About
Us
Established in 1941 it is an affiliate of the California State Horseman's
Association in Region 5. A group of dedicated horsemen had been conducting
an annual overnight ride from Concord to Mt. Diablo. They purchased land in
Concord and built a small clubhouse, racetrack and other facilities. Up to
2,000 people would come to watch the beginning and end of the Mt. Diablo trail
ride. In addition, there would be show jumping, parades, races and rodeo events
to celebrate the completion of the ride.
Due to freeway construction
the club purchased land at it's present location on scenic Mt. Diablo two
miles South East of Clayton in 1960.
